Which game this bear is from
Golden Freddy is a yellow bear in Five Nights at Freddy's, the 2014 game by Scott Cawthon. Players also call that game FNAF 1.
The extras screen in that game labels him Golden Freddy. The Steam page does not. Steam names Freddy Fazbear as the main attraction, and his two friends, and it calls them animatronic robots. Scott Cawthon is the developer, and the listed release date is August 18, 2014.
This note is about that bear only. He is not Freddy Fazbear, the bear on the Show Stage with the microphone. Bonnie the Rabbit, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate are the other three who move through the building.
What he does from 12 AM to 6 AM
He does not walk the cameras the way Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica do. On the West Hall Corner camera, the wall poster usually shows Freddy under the words LET'S PARTY!. That poster can change to Golden Freddy's face. This is rare, and it happens when Bonnie is not standing in that corner.
After that poster, put the camera down. He is sitting in the office: a yellow bear in a black top hat and a black bow tie, jaw open, with small white pupils. The words IT'S ME can flash across the office while he is sitting there. Put the camera back up and he is gone.
Leave the camera down for five seconds and his face fills the screen. The game then leaves the night and returns to the opening screen. It does not show the usual game-over card.
There is a second way to see that close-up. On the custom night screen, set Freddy to 1, Bonnie to 9, Chica to 8, and Foxy to 7, then start. The night does not begin. His close-up plays, and the game returns to the opening screen.

What he looks like
In the office he is a yellow bear in a black top hat and a black bow tie. He sits slumped, jaw open, paws turned up, with small white pupils. The close-up shows empty black eyes, black dots on the muzzle, and a small white mark on the nose. A microphone is not clear in these frames. The Ultimate Guide, page 271, calls him a yellow bear that appears nonfunctioning, and says he resembles Fredbear while his origins stay unknown. That page number is the wiki's citation.
The history players usually tell
Five Nights at Freddy's 2 came out the same year, on November 10. It uses a more damaged yellow bear. Guides describe that form as missing an ear, with loose wires. Players usually treat that bear as this one in worse shape, not as the Freddy on the Show Stage.
The Golden Freddy wiki cites The Ultimate Guide, page 271, for a yellow bear that appears at random in the office. The guide says the game crashes. This version does not. After the close-up it returns to the opening screen. The same page says his origins are unknown. Players do not agree on a name. Some say Cassidy. Some say the Crying Child from the Bite of '83. Some say two spirits, and argue whether the other is Andrew. The video The Giant History of Golden Freddy walks through those tellings. None of those names is a line in the 2014 game.
Where players meet this name
This bear is in Five Nights at Freddy's. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has the damaged form. Five Nights at Freddy's 3 uses him in a minigame. Five Nights at Freddy's 4 and Sister Location use the name as a reference. Ultimate Custom Night includes him. Special Delivery uses the name too. That later list is the wiki's. The film also uses a golden bear. That is a different telling.
How players describe him
In this game he does not walk the halls. A poster changes, he is sitting when the camera comes down, and IT'S ME can flash. Raising the camera removes him. The wiki calls him silent and ghost-like. Longer descriptions add teleporting, moving objects, and walking into dreams. Those powers are not lines in the 2014 game.
